Fused Glass Workshops – January 2016

Artists' Workshop Fused Glass ProjectIf you’ve ever wanted to try a fused glass project at Your Creation Station but felt a little overwhelmed sitting down to a blank piece of clear glass, these workshops are for you.  We are offering two workshops this January where we guide you step by step through the process of making a fused glass project starting with just a blank piece of glass.  Both projects are suitable for first time and experienced glass fusers.

The Projects

Fused Glass Wind Chime

Wind Chimes

For our Fused Glass Wind Chime project we will use a single 6″ by 6″ piece of clear glass and demonstrate how to layout, cut and assemble a wind chime by combining the materials available at our fusing station.  The assembled parts will be fused in our kiln and ready for final assembly when you pick it up.  All the glass and hanging hardware are included with the workshop, no need to scramble around trying to figure out how or where to get the stuff you’ll need to display your finished masterpiece.

Mirror Frames

Our Fused Glass Mirror project provides an excellent opportunity for anyone to make a fused glass project that is sure to dazzle and impress.  We’ll start out with a 3″ by 8″ piece of clear glass and guide you through dividing it into the pieces necessary for building your mirror’s frame.  Once the base is complete you’ll complete the design using the glass stringers, noodles, pebbles, bits and frits stocked in our studio.  After fusing, we’ll attach the mirror backing and you’ll have an impressive piece suitable for hanging in your home or school locker.

How to Attend

Like most things in life, the most important part is showing up and the same holds true here.  However, we ask that you register for one (or both) of these workshops so we can be sure to have plenty of materials for everyone to work with.  Registration is easy and can be done online through our secure website or by calling the studio during business hours.  The cost of each workshop is $35, includes all required materials, firings and instruction to complete the project.  Finished projects will be ready the Wednesday following the workshop.
