Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

General Questions about Your Creation Station

Here’s a list of some of the questions we are generally asked about our studio and how we work. If you don’t see the answer you’re looking for give us a call and we’ll do our best to help you out.

What exactly is Your Creation Station, what do you do?

We are a paint your own pottery and walk in art studio. In addition to paint your own pottery, we offer: canvas painting, tie-dye, fused glass, make your own pottery and other crafty type projects, group events and parties.

Is this a chain or franchise?

No. There’s only one Your Creation Station and this is it. We started in 2005 selling thrown stoneware pottery at craft shows and offering paint your own pottery at festivals and other venues before opening our studio in 2008. We changed locations in 2019, moving into a bigger space.

Are there age restrictions on who can do what?

No. Anyone can do anything at anytime we’re open. If your comfortable with your child painting or working with our other materials, so are we. Our youngest painter was a small baby who stopped in for footprints on the way home from the hospital and our oldest was not asked her age out of respect but if you think you can top it, let us know.

How long do I have to finish my project?

Take as long as you like. If you can’t finish in one sitting, bring it home with you for safe keeping and bring it back to finish. If you somehow talk us into leaving it at our studio (highly discouraged), you’ll have 90 days from the day of your receipt, after that we can’t guarantee it will be there when you come back.

Do I have to come back to pick things up, How long does it take before I can take home a finished project?

It depends on what you do. For projects, like tie-dye, canvas painting and glass or rock painting, you can leave that day with your finished projects. Acrylic pours may take an extra day to dry before you can take it. For projects that need to be fired, you’ll never have to wait more than a week until your project is ready for pick up. These projects include: paint your own pottery and fused glass. For other things like make your own pottery, two fires are required, it will be about a week for bisque fires. During busier times of the year, we fire as soon as the kiln if full. We generally try to have things ready for pickup on Wednesdays but that isn’t set in stone. We’ll let you know at checkout when the next fire is.

How long do I have to pick up my finished project?

We don’t have a lot of formal policies but this is one of them. You have 90 days from the date on your receipt to pick up your finished project. After that time, we are not responsible for it. However, we recognize that stuff happens and do our best to try to keep things as long as we can. Even with the bigger space, we still run out of room sometimes.

Do I need an appointment, can I make a reservation to come in and paint?

Appointments are not required and, with some exceptions, we don’t take reservations. Anyone can come in anytime we’re open to work on a project.

What are the exceptions, what kind of reservations can I make?

We take reservations for group projects (scout troops, day cares, etc), birthday parties, Ladies Nights, workshops and offsite activities. While that sounds like a lot, its really only for things we need to have an instructor or staff member available at or events/classes we need special materials for.

How much does do projects cost?

The cost of visiting Your Creation Station depends on the project you choose to work on. All our pricing is all inclusive so that whatever you see on the piece is what it costs, all materials and serving required to complete the project is included. That said, our smallest, emblem sized pottery pieces, start at $3 and projects prices go up from there. Our most expensive single piece, an 18″ lighted Christmas Tree is under $100.
